Abstract:
With ‘Liaoyuanduoli’ tomato as materials,effects of exogenous vitamin A and calcium spraying to the leaves were studied in order to investigate the treatments on fruit softening.Fruit firmness,respiration rate,ethylene production,cell wall hydralases (polygalacturonase,pectinmesterase,carboxymethl cellulosase) activities were studied.The results showed that compared with the control (water treatment),treatments 2% VA+0.5% CaCl2 and 0.5% CaCl2both delayed the tomato softening,postponed the peak of ethylene production,reduced the respiration rate,ethylene production and the activities of cell wall hydrolases significantly.In contrast to 0.5% CaCl2treatment,2% VA+0.5% CaCl2treatment decreased the activities of cell wall hydralases and slowed down the rate of fruits firmness significantly.
