Abstract:
The genus Pleione belongs to the family Orchidaceae.The species of this genus have important ornamental and medicinal value,and the wild germplasm resources are mainly distributed in south west China and the Himalayan region.With more than 400 hybrids registered at the Royal Horticultural Society,breeding history of this genus has been more than 50 years outside China.However,as the distribution center,artificial cultivation and breeding of Pleione is still at an early stage in China.In this study,germplasm resources,history and current status of crossbreeding,and the existing problems were reviewed.According to the utilization status of resources,ideas and suggestions regarding breeding were proposed to promote conservation and utilization of Pleione.
