Abstract:
‘Black beauty’ watermelon and local mustard shoots were used as experimental materials,a pot experiment was conducted to study the inhibition effect of mustard extract on watermelon fusarium wilt and the effect on the activity of protective enzymes in plant leaves.A total of 5 mustard extracts with concentration of 6.25,12.50,25.00,50.00 mg·mL-1,0 mg·mL-1 were used as control (CK).The results showed that,in a certain concentration range,the mustard extract had a certain inhibitory effect on watermelon fusarium wilt bacteria,among which 12.50 mg·mL-1 had a better treatment effect,the incidence of disease was 13.33% lower than CK,and the disease index was 12.50% lower than CK.At the same time,the mustard extract treatment promoted the growth of watermelon plants,and the plant height,stem diameter,dry weight and fresh weight were significantly improved compared with CK,among which 12.50 mg·mL-1 treatment had the best effect.When the concentration exceeded 25.00 mg·mL-1,the plant growth gradually decreased,showing the change law of low concentration promoting high concentration inhibition.All the extracts of mustard could improve the activity of SOD,POD,CAT and APX in watermelon leaves,among which 12.50 mg·mL-1 had a good treatment effect.SOD,POD and CAT activity increased significantly by 12.61%,28.88% and 9.91%,respectively,compared with CK.In addition,the extract treatment also significantly reduced the MDA content in watermelon leaves,and increased the content of H2O2 and soluble sugar in plant leaves.In summary,a certain concentration of mustard extract could reduce the incidence of watermelon fusarium wilt,improve the ability of plants to resist adversity,and promote the growth of watermelon seedlings.
