Abstract:
The petals of 6 peony varieties belonging to three color series of white,pink and red were used as test materials.Thin layer chromatography (TLC),ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV), and high-performance liquid chromatography-diode were used.Array detector (HPLC-DAD) was used to study the pigment content in the petals of different peony varieties,and a qualitative analysis was performed.The results showed that two anthocyanins were detected in pink and red peony,namely cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside and paeoniflorin-3,5-diglucoside,and no white peony was detected.Anthocyanins,including cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside,were higher in the pink peony,while the total flavonoids and total anthocyanins were the highest in the red.
