Abstract:
The hydroponic culture method was adopted to explore the effects of different concentrations of Cd on seed germination,seedling growth and antioxidant enzymes of lettuce.The results showed that the seed germination rate,the germination potential,the germination index and the vigor index were inhibited to different degrees with the increase of Cd concentration.As cadmium concentration increased to 10 mg?L-1,the germination rate was significantly decreased.However,the germination index and the vigor index were significantly decreased at the cadmium concentration higher than 5 mg?L-1.The length and fresh weight showed low promotion and high inhibitory effect,and markedly inhibited at cadmium concentration higher than 5 mg?L-1.With the increase of cadmium intimidation,the activity of MDA and POD in the roots and shoots increased gradually,and the activities of SOD and APX increased firstly and then slightly decreased.The CAT activity was significantly reduced in this process.Therefore,the oxidative intimidation caused by the higher concentration of cadmium intimidation is one of the important reasons for inhibiting the seed germination and seedling growth of lettuce.
