Abstract:
The effects of different concentrations of carboxymethyl chitosan on gray mold incidence rate,disease resistance enzyme activity and fruit quality of postharvest fruits were studied with ‘Bright’ blueberries as test materials in order to provide reference for preservation of blueberry after harvest.The results showed that 1.5% and 2.0% carboxymethyl chitosan treatment could effectively inhibit the occurrence of postharvest blueberry gray mold,induce disease resistance and maintain the nutritional quality of blueberry fruits.Under in vitro culture conditions,carboxymethyl chitosan could significantly inhibit the growth of B.cinerea colonies,the spores germination,the spores growth,and the inhibition of 2.0% carboxymethyl chitosan was more significant (P<0.05).The blueberry fruit dipped with different concentrations carboxymethyl chitosan was inoculated with the spore suspension of B.cinerea,and the gray mold disease incidence of fruit decreased with the increase of the concentration of carboxymethyl chitosan.Under the ambient temperature storage conditions,the treatments with different concentrations carboxymethyl chitosan solution significantly (P<0.05) increased the activities of polyphenol oxidase (PPO),peroxidase (POD),β-1,3-glucan (GLU) and chitinase (CHT) of blueberry fruit,2.0% of carboxymethyl chitosan had the best effect in inducing disease resistance in the late storage period.In addition,carboxymethyl chitosan treatment could obviously maintain the quality of blueberry fruits during storage,the fruit weight loss rate,the loss of sugar and acid content was significantly reduced,and the content of soluble solids was maintained at a high level.
