Abstract:
M4 generation of mutant library obtained by using EMS to mutagenic cucumber inbred line 6457 seed was used as test material.By observed,variety mutants of cucumber fruit were studied in order to reach the selected mutants which could provide valuable materials for cucumber breeding and genetic research.The results showed that phenotypic identification of 6457 mutant M4 was carried out in the whole growth period,such as longer fruit,shorter fruit stalk,fruit short cylinder,fruit without prickles,fruit prickles thicken and denser burr.Among them,2 non-prickly and tumorous lines,1 prickly and dense line,1 burr and dense line,7 fruit lengthening line,7 fruit shortening line,4 fruit stalk shortening line,1 fruit short cylinder line and 1 spindle fruits line were screened,with total variation rate of 31.0%.The mutants screened in this study could provide valuable material for cucumber breeding and genetic research.
