Abstract:
Taking 3-year-old potted plant Ilex verticillata ‘Oosterwijk’ as the test material,and the method of leaf spraying was applied with water as the control (CK).The objective was to investigate the impacts of polybulobuzole (PP333),enlobuzole (S3307) and chlormequat chloride (CCC) on the spring tips growth of potted I.verticillata,in order to provide reference for cultivating high-quality and ornamental potted seedlings.The results showed that PP333,S3307 and CCC exhibited varying levels of inhibition on the growth parameters,including growth amount,leaf length,leaf width and leaf area.Additionally,all treatments with PP333,S3307 and CCC promoted the thickening of I.verticillata youth tips.Notably,the application of 3 mg·L-1 S3307 sprayed 5 times resulted in the most significant inhibitory effect on the growth of I.verticillata youth tips,with a decrease of 85.04% compared with CK.Furthermore,spraying 200 mg·L-1CCC for 3 times demonstrated the highest efficacy in promoting the stem diameter of spring tips,leading to a 15.67% increase compared to the control group.The application of plant growth retarders,specifically 250 mg·L-1 PP333,6 mg·L-1 S3307 and 1 200 mg·L-1 CCC had significant inhibitory effects on leaf length,leaf width and leaf area.The analysis of growth parameters in response to the treatment of these growth inhibitors revealed a negative correlation between the thickness of I.verticillata youth tips and growth quantity,leaf length,leaf width,and leaf area.The application of PP333 treatment resulted in a significant positive correlation between leaf length,leaf width,and leaf area in the youth tips of I.verticillata.Conversely,the application of S3307 and CCC treatment also exhibited a positive correlation between leaf length,leaf width,and leaf area,as well as a positive correlation between growth and leaf length,leaf width,and leaf area.
