Abstract:
Taking the melon varieties ‘Xizhoumi No.1’‘Xizhoumi No.17’,and ‘Xizhoumi No.25’ as experimental materials in a greenhouse under a trellis cultivation system,four transplanting treatments based on seedling developmental stages were established,T1 (one-leaf growth stage),T2 (two-leaf growth stage),T3 (three-leaf growth stage),and T4 (four-leaf growth stage).The effects of transplanting at different seedling ages on the vegetative growth,fruit yield,and quality of melon plants were researched,in order to provide a reference for intensive seedling cultivation and high-efficiency cultivation practices in Xinjiang′s melon production areas.The results showed that increasing seedling age at transplanting was associated with a significant reduction in vegetative growth.Specifically,the T1 treatment outperformed the others in terms of main stem length and stem diameter.Regarding fruit yield and quality,T1 showed favorable outcomes for both ‘Xizhoumi No.17’ and ‘Xizhoumi No.25’.Notably,compared to T3,the T1 treatment led to 32.64% increase in single fruit weight and 19.79% increase in soluble solids content. A comprehensive analysis suggested that for melons of the ‘Xizhoumi’ series cultivated under greenhouse conditions using a trellis cultivation system,transplantation at the one-leaf growth stage was optimal choice,effectively balancing vegetative growth with fruit yield and quality.This seedling age treatment effectively balanced the relationship between vegetative growth and yield quality,ensuring vigorous plant development while achieving high yield and excellent fruit quality.This approach represented a crucial technical measure suitable for practical application in production.
