Abstract:
‘Zhuqie No.17’ is a new hybrid eggplant variety bred by using the inbred line ‘Zhu P07-15’ as the female parent and the inbred line ‘Zhu Q-08-03’ as the male parent through the method of heterosis hybrid breeding.This variety has strong growth vigor，semi-erect plants，with a plant height of about 83.2 cm and a plant width of about 65.0 cm.The fruit is oval-shaped，with a green rind and good gloss.The longitudinal diameter of the fruit is 17.0 cm，the transverse diameter is 9.6 cm，the single fruit weight is 0.42 kg，and the yield per 667 m2 is 5 888.2 kg.It has strong resistance to bacterial wilt，verticillium wilt and southern blight，and is suitable for early spring protected cultivation and open field cultivation in Henan Province and its surrounding areas.
