Abstract:
‘Cangqie No.2’ is a new mid-early maturing and purple greenhouse eggplant F1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line ‘Ziyuan-1-1-4-7’ as female parent and inbred line ‘Yuanza-1-1-8-2’ as male parent.The plant has strong growth and a long harvesting period，with an average plant height of 87.5 cm and a spread of 76.8 cm.The plant is compact and upright，with the first flower appearing at the 7.4th node.The leaves are dark green，the flowers are purple，the calyx is purple，and the fruit is ovular with a shiny，purple-red skin.The flesh is white，the blossom end is sunken，and the flesh is firm.The average fruit weight is 0.85 kg，with high vitamin C and low cellulose，making it of excellent quality.It is resistant to fusarium wilt and has a yield of around 7 400 kg per 667 m2.It is suitable for early spring cultivation in greenhouses in Cangzhou and areas where round eggplant is cultivated.
