Abstract:
‘Huojuzhiguang’ is a new cultivar of tree peony for ornamental flowers that was bred by Luoyang Academy of Agriculture and Forestry through artificial directional hybridization.The hybrid combination is ‘Heihai Sajin’ × ‘Huawang’.The new cultivar has shown good consistency and stability through continuous years of observation,propagation and multi-point introduction experiments.The color of flower is purple-red,bright and moist,its flower type is rose-shaped,regular and plump.Its flowering branches are stout,stiff,and long,and the plants are tall and straight,the flower formation is good,growth potential is strong,and the overall ornamental properties are outstanding.It is not only an excellent ornamental variety that can be applied in courtyards,parks and special gardens,but also a good cut flower variety.‘Huojuzhiguang’ had been passed the approval of the Henan Provincial Commission for examination and approval of improved forest varieties in 2021.Approval No.is Yu S-SV-PS-026-2021.
