The best ornamental seedlings of common silk-cottonwood were selected as the mother plant,then grafted the branches to other common silk-cottonwood by high grafting and transposed to bred genetic traits of large-leaf silk-cottonwood,which was named as ‘Huazhidu’ long-oval leaf silk-cottonwood.Compared with common silk-cottonwood,‘Huazhidu’ long-oval leaf silk-cottonwood exhibited more upright branches,greater hardness,smaller branch angle,compacter crown,bigger leaves,fewer flowers and seeds,stronger resistance to geometer,as well as stable biological properties.Thus,‘Huazhidu’ long-oval leaf silk-cottonwood would have a good prospect of application and promotion.
