Abstract:
A pot experiment was carried out to study the effects of biochar additions on seed germination,the relative chlorophyll content,growth characteristics of Wenzhou turnip seedling,enzyme activity in system of scavenging active oxygen(SOD,POD),and malondialdehyde(MDA)content in turnip seedling under copper stress (300 mg?kg-1).The biochar was applied at 3%,5%(m/m).The results showed that biochar-leach liquor partly recovered the inhibition on seed germination,seedlings growth,the relative chlorophyll content and growth characteristics,the increase of MDA content and enzyme activity in system of scavenging active oxygen(SOD,POD) caused by copper stress.Compared with no biochar addition,applying biochar increased the content of the relative chlorophyll,but reduced the enzyme activity in system of scavenging active oxygen(SOD,POD) and MDA content.In conclusion,biochar could effectively promote the antioxidant ability,and further improve copper stress-tolerance of turnip seedlings,alleviate copper stress on turnip seedlings,and regulate the physiological metabolism of seedlings.
