Abstract:
The effects of exogenous glucose(3%,5%,7%) on the seedling growth,activities of antioxidant enzymes,osmotic substance contents and malodialdehyde(MDA) contents in leaves of tomato seedlings were studied under salt stress.The results showed that exogenous glucose could enhance the contents of chlorophyll,soluble sugar,soluble protein,proline and increased the activities of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),thereby decreased the contents of MDA,H2O2,O?[TX-*4]2 in leaves and increased the growth of tomato seedlings under salt stress.Therefore,exogenous glucose could enhance salt tolerance of tomato.The results of the present experiment further proved that the exogenous glucose played an important role in alleviating salt damage.
