Abstract:
In order to enrich the ornamental conifer resources in China，and develop urban forestation and landscape，four foreign ornamental conifer species were introduced from Belgium to Beijing，that were Juniperus chinensis‘Plumosa Aurea’, J.communis‘Gold Cone’,J.×media ‘Pfitzeriana Aurea’, J.squamata ‘Blue Star’.Morphologic characters，phenology，ornamental and adaptability of four conifers in Beijing were studied.The results showed that four conifers grew well，and had shorter fast-growth duration and the color of leaves changed ealier compared with Sabina vulgaris Ant.,ornamental of ‘Gold Cone’ had reduced，since changes had taken place in plant form;Conifers were doing well during summer and keep ornamental value including leaf color，plant type among ‘Plumosa Aurea’.‘Pfitzeriana Aurea’and ‘Blue Star’should be protected in advance，and further studied on cold acclimation in Beijing.
