Abstract:
Theseven-year-oldChinesejujubetreeswererespectivelycoveredwithinsect-proofnetindifferenttimetoevaluatetheinfluenceofinsect-proofnetonthegrowthandfruitqualityofjujubetrees.Theresultsshowedthatinsect-proofnetincombinationwithrootpruningsignificantlyinhibitedthegrowthofsecondarybranch,fruitshoot,fruitingrate,flowernumberandyield,andthesamemarkedlydecreasedinVitaminCandsolublesugarcontent,buthadbeneficialeffectonpesticideresiduespriortoflowering,incomparisontocontrol.Asinsect-proofnetreinforcedwithrootpruningwasappliedafterflowering,theinhibitioneffectsabovewerelessornotfound.Althoughpesticideresiduesweretestedinfruits,theircontentswereclearlylowerrelativetocontrol,wheninsect-proofnetwascoveredafterflowering.Thetwodifferentcoveringnetswerebothdeclinedthephotosyntheticproperties.Itisconcludedthatinsect-proofnetincombinationwithrootpruningafterfloweringmaybethebestchoiceforimprovementinfruitqualityofChinesejujubetrees.
