Abstract:
Jize county has a history of over 400 years of pepper cultivation and is a well-known and influential traditional pepper production area in northern China.‘Jize Pepper’ was selected as one of the national first batch of characteristic agricultural product advantage areas in 2017,awarded the ‘National Geographical Indication Product’ certification in 2019,and included in the ‘Agricultural Brand Fine Cultivation Plan’ in 2022.Pepper has become the dominant industry locally,with significant radiating and driving effects.However,issues such as severe degeneration of traditional pepper species,frequent natural disasters and pests,inadequate connection between production and processing,and low added value of products,are restricting the high-quality development of the ‘Jize Pepper’ industry.Accordingly,a series of strategies are proposed,such as promoting innovation in the seed industry,establishing disaster early warning mechanisms,optimizing the efficiency of pepper production and processing linkage,developing deep processing,and implementing brand cultivation projects,in order to provide references for the high-quality development of the ‘Jize Pepper’ industry.
