Abstract:
Taking strawberry farms in Jiangsu Province as the research subjects and using DEA-Tobit method,the production efficiency of different scale strawberry farms and their influencing factors were studied,in order to provide reference and policy recommendations for improving Production efficiency and promoting high-quality development of the strawberry industry in Jiangsu province.The results showed that there were significant differences in production efficiency among strawberry farmers.Overall,there was an inverted ‘U’ relationship between strawberry planting area and production efficiency.The main factors affecting production efficiency of different scale strawberry farmers showed significant differences.For large-scale farmers,longer planting years were more conductive to improving production efficiency.The identity of decision-makers had a significant positive impact on the production efficiency of medium-scale farmers,while the educational level of decision-makers and the number of agricultural technical certificates significantly affected the production efficiency of small-scale farmers.Based on this,it was suggested to increase investment in education and technical training to enhance the cognitive and technical levels of farmers,strengthen the cultivation of new agricultural management entities to play a leading and radiating role,and break regional development barriers to promote integrated development of regional strawberry industries.
