Abstract:
Cosmos bipinnata,Salvia splendens,Viola tricolor,Dianthus chinensis,Zinnia elegans and Tagetes erecta were taken as materials in seed germination stage,different concentration (0%,0.5%,1.0%,1.5%,2.0% and 2.5%) of NaCl solution treated on seeds,then germinaiton characteristics were studied.In order to compare salt tolerance among six species of herbaceous flowers.The results showed that the seeds of Dianthus chinensis could germinate at six concentration of NaCl solution,and germination percentage and germination index were significantly the highest at 1.5%,2.0% and 2.5% concentration of NaCl solution while which were intermediate at 0.5% and 1.0% concentration of NaCl solution.Cosmos bipinnata and Tagetes erecta could germinate at 0%,0.5%,1.0%,1.5% and 2.0% concentration of NaCl solution.Except for isolated cases,germination percentage and germination index at NaCl solution of Cosmos bipinnata were significantly higher than others.Germination percentage and germination index of Tagetes erecta at control were the highest while which were intermediate at NaCl solution.Germinatioin percentage and germination index of Salvia splendens were intermediate while which of Viola tricolor and Zinnia elegans were low at NaCl solution.So,salt tolerance of six species of herbaceous flowers in seed germination stage were Dianthus chinensis was the best,Cosmos bipinnata was the second,Salvia splendens and Tagetes erecta were intermediate,while Viola tricolor and Zinnia elegans were the worst.
