Abstract:
Rhododendron mucronatum (Blume) G.Don.f.ruyangense X.J.Zhou,f.nov.,a new form of Rhododendron L.(Ericaceae),was described and illustrated.It was found under the Quercus variabilis+Carpinus turczaninowii forest,at Funiu Mountain (Alt 860 m),Ruyang County,Henan Province,China．The new form is a small deciduous shrub.The corolla shape of the new form is similar to that of R.mucronatum,except the upper three petal lobes and the inner tube have obvious green spots,and the calyx margin has eyelashes about 2 mm long.Previously,no wild population of R.mucronatum has been reported in Henan and North of the Yangtze River.
