Abstract:
Urban road dust is one of the main carriers of PAHs in urban environment, which is closely related to urban ecological environment and human health. In this study, sixteen PAHs were detected by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography(UPLC),with road dust samples collected from five functional areas in Hefei. To study the accumulation characteristic and source, and assess the otential health risks of PAHs.The results showed that the content of ∑16 PAHs in road dust in Hefei ranged from 1 432.86 to 14 367.07 μg?kg-1,with an average value of 6 015.04 μg?kg-1.There were spatial differences which followed in this descending:traffic area>industrial area>business area>institutes and colleges district area>park green. The constitution of the PAHs in sampling sites were most predominantly by 4-rings and 5-rings,followed by 3-rings and 6-rings,while 2-rings had the lowest percentage of ∑16PAHs.There were seven carcinogenic PAHs that contribute to potential carcinogenicity risk. These PAHs range from 131.56 to 1 987.22 μg?kg-1,with an average value of 4 654.19 μg?kg-1.According to characteristics of the ratio and principal component analysis conducted on PAHs in road dust were the most important sources of PAHs include disel and gasoline vehicle emission, petroleum, gas fuel, coal and fossil fuels combustion, and biomass burning. The incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) values via inhalation was 10-13-10-10,which indicated no potential risk. However, the ILCR values for ingestion and dermal contact were among 10-8 -10-5,which indicated potential risk.
