Abstract:
Bactrocera tau was used as test insect,the artificial infusion method was used to evaluate the infertility effect of avermectin on the adults by studying the fecundity,hatching rate and glutathione S-transferase activity in Bactrocera tau treated with different concentrations of avermectin,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the comprehensive management of the insect.The results showed that avermectin had significant infertility effect on Bactrocera tau.When the concentration of 1.00,0.50,0.10,0.05,0.01 mg?L-1 avermectin and artificial diet were mixed to feed adults of Bactrocera tau,the number of eggs laid per female per day and egg hatching rate was significantly reduced,and the infertility effects of each concentration was as follows:0.10 mg?L-1>0.50 mg?L-1>1.00 mg?L-1>0.05 mg?L-1>0.01 mg?L-1.When different concentrations of avermectin and artificial diet were mixed,the male and female adults were treated separately,the infertility effect was treatment of female adults separately>treatment of both male and female adults>treatment of male adults separately.The activity of GSTs of male and female adults treated with different concentrations of avermectin increased significantly with the increase of adult age,and the activities of GSTs of their larva and pupa progeny showed different degrees of increase compared with the control.It proves that avermectin had infertility to Bactrocera tau,and also has a significant inhibitory effect on the offspring.The results provide a theoretical basis for the application of avermectin as sterility agent for Bactrocera tau.
