- Abstract:
- Two varieties ‘Heiyundou’ and ‘Ribenbai’ were used as test materials.Growth characteristics of different common bean varieties were compared and analyzed based on the different NaCl concentration (0(CK),50,100,150 mmol·L-1) treatments and NaHCO3 concentrations (0(CK),50,100,150 mmol·L-1) treatments, respectively, variation difference of chlorophyll content, photosynthesis gas exchange parameters and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters were discussed. In order to investigate the difference of growth and photosynthetic characteristics between common bean seedlings cultured on the neutral salt stress and alkaline salt stress condition. The results showed that both NaCl and NaHCO3 treatments inhibited the growth of common bean seedlings in different degrees.Compared with the control treatment, the neutral salt and alkaline salt stress of low concentration (50 mmol·L-1) had no significant effect on plant height, root length and dry matter accumulation, but when the stress concentration was more than 100 mmol·L-1,all the neutral salt stress and alkaline salt stress significantly inhibited the common bean seedlings growth, and the inhibition of alkaline salt stress was more serious. Moreover, the response of ‘Ribenbai’ to saline-alkaline stress was more rapid than that of ‘Heiyundou’.At the same time, with the increasing of saline-alkaline stress concentration, chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate (Pn),stomatal conductance (Gs),transpiration rate (Tr),and the maximum photochemical quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of common bean leaves decreased, but the CO2 concentration (Ci) increased continuously. The analysis of seedling growth and photosynthetic characteristics showed that ‘Heiyundou’ had stronger adaptability of saline-alkaline stress condition than ‘Ribenbai’.
