- Abstract:
- Five species of asexual succulent plants including Herba monachosori Henryi,Sedum dasyphyllum,Graptoveria ‘Opalina’,Pachyphytum oviferum and Sedum rubrotinctum, were used as test materials to study their cold resistance by artificial low-temperature stress method, which aimed to provide certain basis for low temperature resistant species selection.Physiological indexes such as soluble sugar, leaf relative water content, proline and malondialdehyde under low temperature stress were measured. And the survival rate after low temperature stress were determined. The results showed that the proline content, leaf relative water content, soluble sugar content, and malondialdehyde content in five kinds of succulents showed an upward trend with increasing cold stress, but the increase was slightly different. The changes in leaf relative water content and malondialdehyde content were the most evident in Graptoveria ‘Opalina’,and the lowest was in Herba monachosori Henryi.Under low temperature stress, the organic solute of Herba monachosori Henryi had the highest content of proline and soluble sugar, and Graptoveria ‘Opalina’ was the lowest. The cold resistance of the five succulents was ranked in the following order:Herba monachosori Henryi>Sedum dasyphyllum>Sedum rubrotinctum>Pachyphytum oviferum> Graptoveria ‘Opalina’.
