Abstract:: ‘Jingxuan No.79’ is a new medium maturity hot pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing hybrid line ‘H946 as female parent and inbred line ‘1132’ as male parent.The initial flower is set mostly on the 9th node.Its plant has strong growth medium vigor and strong ability for continuous fruit setting；faster fruit sizing up，and uniform fruit size.Its fruit base is twisted；other part is relative smooth and straight.The young fruit is bright green in color and of long-horn shape.The single fruit is about 65 g.The fruit is moderately pungent，crunchy and tasty，and is well suited for long distance shipping and storage.Based on field testing，the yield is about 3 884 kg per 667 m2.‘Jingxuan No.79’ is widely adapted to early spring protected and open field cultivation in both the North and West.
