Title:: Variety Research on Small-sized Watermelon for Sightseeing Picking in Beijing

Abstract:: Beijing is the characteristics region with watermelon.In order to get a better demonstration and promotion effect on new varieties of small-sized watermelons that are high-quality,nosotropic and suitable for the sightseeing and picking agriculture in city,and carry out a research on these new varieties that can drive the upgrading of watermelon and melon and improve the industry comparative profit and competitiveness in Beijing.‘L-600’（current main varieties,control variety），‘Meiling’‘Tianli’‘Xintianshi2’‘Xiaoyuhong’‘Xiaoyu9’‘L-800’and ‘L-900’ were researched for materials.The results indicated that comprehensive performance of ‘Meiling’‘L-800’ and ‘L-900’ were better.And seedless fruit watermelonto ‘Xiaoyuhong’ and ‘Tianli’ extremely early variety with yellow flesh could be planted as a special tourist picking variety in the sightseeing and picking mode.
