- Abstract:
- Melon ‘Lyubaocui’ and zucchini ‘Jingying No.1’ were used as experimental materials,to explore the effect of rainwater collection with plastic tunnel and vegetable seedling growth in the use of rainwater.The results showed that rainfall was proportional to the amount of rainwater collection,and the EC value and pH of rainwater were more suitable for vegetables growth.Rainwater treatment increased the length and width of melon and zucchini leaves,improved the leaves areas and accumulation of dry matter,enhanced the seedling index and root cap ratio.Rainwater treatment dramativally increased the seedling index and root cap ratio by 46.4%,37.8% and 1.80%,15.16%,respectively,compared with tap water.In all,the collection of rainwater could promote the growth of melon and zucchini seedlings in the arid and semi-arid region facility agricultural production of northwest.
