Abstract:: This study first elaborated the connotation of the compound ecology and the waterfront landscape,and discussed the principles and methods of the waterfront landscape planning and design from the perspective of the compound ecology theory.Secondly,taking the waterfront landscape planning and design of Nyingchi city as an example,the connotation of the riverfront landscape design was analyzed in the overall layout of the building,the terms of the planning of the main nodes,the manifestations of cultural connotations,and the planting design of the functional areas.It also explored the planning of the riverside landscape in Nyingchi city from the aspects of gardening techniques,application of functional symbols,and creation of artistic conception.Finally,the landscape planning design method was used to create the design style of the waterfront landscape in Nyingchi city,to provide reference for landscape evaluation and management in the development and construction of plateau urban riverfront landscape.
