Abstract:
Four kinds of herbaceous plants widespreading in bare slope of Sichuan were studied,in order to explore the distribution and mechanical properties of herbaceous plant roots for slope protection. The root distribution and mechanical indicators of tensile,compressive,annti-disintegration and so on were measured. The results showed that the root biomass in 0-30 cm soil profile appeared the rule of Dwarf lilyturf>Lolium perenne>Trifolium repens>Gypsophila repens, and mainly concentrated in 0-10 cm soil layer. The root stress ordered Dwarf lilyturf>Lolium perenne>Trifolium repens>Gypsophila repens, there was a significantly negatively related and the power function relationship between tensile strength and root diameter, and R2 was more than 0.900 0 (P<0.05),while there was a same change trend in tensile strength and root diameter which showed Dwarf lilyturf>Lolium perenne>Trifolium repens>Gypsophila repens.Tensile strength had a significantly negatively related to the diameter (P<0.001) with R2 was -0.856 9,-0.998 5,-0.996 3,-0.923 4.Compressive strength of the four plants showed Dwarf lilyturf>Lolium perenne>Trifolium repens>Gypsophila repens, there was no significant difference between specific root length and compressive strength, and positive related to soil depth (P<0.05).Soil depth and root content in the soil were the two key factors of impacting soil disintegration rate, soil disintegration rate reduced with increasing soil depth, and disintegration rate of no root soil was greater than the root soil, the root length and disintegration rate in the soil was significantly negatively correlated, compressive strength of the four plants showed Dwarf lilyturf>Lolium perenne>Trifolium repens>Gypsophila repens. In summary, slope protection ability of the gramineae was better.
