Abstract:: For the first time, the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) put forward the strategy of rejuvenating the countryside for the first time to guide rural development and develop rural tourism as an effective measure to implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country. In this context, this paper analyzed the advantages and problems of the development of rural tourism in Pingdingshan and put forward countermeasures and suggestions. The study showed that, the development of rural tourism in Pingdingshan had the advantages of rich tourism resources, regional advantages and government support. At the same time, there were also problems such as serious project homogenization, poor environmental quality, inconvenient transportation and insufficient tourist personnel. In view of the problems, the government had proposed to strengthen planning and lead, highlighting the characteristics of rural tourism; improving the environment and upgrading rural tourism; strengthening infrastructure construction and improvement Rural tourism accessibility; strengthening training of tourism personnel training, improving service quality and other countermeasures and suggestions.
