- Abstract:
- Stipa breviflora seeds, collected from Inner Mongolia, were sowed on MS medium containing 0,50,100,150,200 mmol·L-1NaCl,to investigate the effect of salt stress on the physiological phenotype and antioxidant enzymes activity of Stipa breviflora seedling. The results showed the germination rate, root length and fresh weight of seedling [JP2]were all influenced by salinity.Germination rate, root length and fresh weight of seedling were significantly inhibited by 100,150 and 50 mmol·L-1 NaCl and data were 62%,1.30 cm,0.299 g respectively. With NaCl content increasing, the tread of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) activity were first rising and then falling. When the NaCl concentration reached 150 and 100 mmol·L-1,the activity of SOD and POD were the maximum,48.6 U·g-1 and 6 766 U·g-1 respectively. The activity of catalase (CAT) was continuing increased and reached the maximum at 100 mmol·L-1,was 299 U·g-1.The isozyme showed SOD 2-4,POD 1-2,and CAT 1-2 were positively correlated with salinity tolerance of Stipa breviflora seedling.
