Abstract:
Extracts of different parts (seed,flesh and peel) of fresh Ilex asprella fruits were used as research objects and Chinese cabbage seeds were taken as test material.The extracts were prepared by using systematic solvent extraction method and diluted into different concentrations,including 0.100,0.067,0.033,0.017 g?mL-1,which were applied to Chinese cabbage seeds in germination test.The effects of different extracts on germination and radicle length were compared in order to determine the types and parts of the germination inhibitors in Ilex asprella fruits.The results showed that endogenous germination inhibitors were found in the three parts of Ilex asprella fruits.Petroleum extracts and water extracts from the seeds significantly inhibited the germination of Chinese cabbage seeds;in the flesh,while there was a significant inhibiting effect on the germination rate of Chinese cabbage seeds under the treatment of petroleum extracts and methanol extracts,the ethyl acetate extracts reduced the radicle length of seedlings.Ethyl acetate,methanol and water extracts from the peels significantly inhibited the germination of Chinese cabbage seeds,and the petroleum ether,methanol and water extracts significantly reduced the radicle length of the seedlings.
