Abstract:
Lilium orential ‘Sorbonne’(ethylene insensitive cut flower) and Rosa chinensis ‘Diana’(ethylene sensitive cut flower) were used as test materials and were treated with sodium thiosulfate,hydrogen peroxide and sodium benzoate in order to study the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the aging process of cut flowers.Fresh-keeping effects of each treatment were compared,and the treatments which had significant differences compared with the control (distilled water) were selected,and the physiological indexes under the treatments were measured.The results showed that 900 μmol?L-1 ST treatment decreased the content of soluble protein and increased the contents of proline and MDA,thus accelerated floral senescence;300 μmol?L-1 H2O2 treatment increased flower diameter of cut rose and lily and decreased the degradation of soluble proteins and accumulation of proline content and MDA content,prolonged vase life;100 μmol?L-1 SBN treatment had no significant effects on ornamental quality and physiological changes of cut lily and cut rose.
