- Abstract:
- ‘Mibao No.1’ is a new F1 hybrid watermelon by crossing female parent HSWM089 with male parent HSWM130.It takes about 103 days from sowing to harvest and 35 days from pollination to fruit maturity.The plants are easy to bear fruits with high cold resistance.The spherical watermelon is covered with wax powder,bottle-green rind and dark-green wide stripes.The flesh of fruit is red,crisp and juicy.The sugar content is 12% in the melon centre.The toughness of the peel is so good that ‘Mibao No.1’ is suitable for transportation.The average fruit weight is about 8-10 kg and the yield is about 5 000 kg per 667 m2.After several experiments,the experiment found that ‘Mibao No.1’ is adapt to cultivate in the protected area and the open field.
