Abstract:: The pretreatment，sterilized factors and length of the explants were studied to establish propagation system on axillary buds of rhizome of Alpinia zerumbet cv.Variegata.The results showed that the contamination rate would be 24.2% and germination rate would be 72.7% when choose the axillary buds at the length of 3-5 cm from hydroponics plants for three days，the surface disinfection suitable time lasted 16 min in 1.25‰ HgCl2，and the growth of the explants was in good condition.
