Abstract:
Six cultivars of potted seedlings of Gazania rigens (L.) were used for artificial drought stress (without irritation) experiment.These cultivars were ‘Xingbai’‘Hongwen’ ‘Red kiss’‘Gazoo red withring’‘White flame’and‘Yellow flame’.The effect of limit moisture content in substrate (wilt coefficient) on Gazania rigens (L.) drought tolerance was studied.The results showed that the wilt coefficient of ‘Red kiss’ ‘Gazoo red withring’and ‘White flame’were 11.44%,11.89% and 9.89% respectively;the wilt coefficient of ‘Xingbai’ and ‘Yellow flame’ the wilt coefficient were 8.89% and 7.78% respectively;the wilt coefficient of ‘Red strip’ was 7.44%,which was the lowest one among the six accessions of Gazania rigens (L.).These results provided scientifically bases for Gazania rigens (L.) introduction and landscape application in Suzhou area.
