Based on the source sink database theory and physiology of plant senescence，varieties melon of ‘Taitian 10’‘Yongtian 3’‘Wulongbai’ widely cultivated in Heilongjiang Province were used as materials.The effects of different numbers in the left vine on growth process such as the stem diameter and internode length were studied.The results showed that，effects of different kinds of vine number on indexes of growth and development of plants were different.There was little effect on the muskmelon stem diameter，but there was a certain influence on the internode length，leaf length，width of the largest leaf shape index.There was a certain influence of different kinds of vine number on the process of thin skinned muskmelon growth.Beginning florescence，period，final harvest period，fruit maturation period was increased with the increase of the number of vines.
