A New Bamboo Cultivar ‘Qioushi’ From Dendrocalamus membranaceus(PDF)

Abstract:: Dendrocalamus membranaceus ‘Qiushi’，a new bamboo cultivar，is developed from the natural mutants of D.membranaceus ‘Striatus’ through artificial separation and transplantation.The key differences between ‘Qiushi’ and D.membranaceus ‘Striatus’ are that there are several golden-yellow stripes longitudinal in different sizes between the internodes of ‘Qiushi’，the fresh bamboo shoots or sheaths being smooth without setae and obvious brown and green stripes，and the apexes of culm ligules showing irregular-dentate.D.membranaceus ‘Striatus’ has no these features.
