Abstract:
Orchid plant mostly has a unique-sophisticated-diverse flower structure and has a variety of ways to attract pollinators.The ultrastructure of the sepals,side flaps and labial lobes of Cymbidium sinense was contrastively studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to investigat the relationship between pollination and insect pollination.The results showed that the plastids and the mitochondria of Cymbidium sinense were more developed in the sepal than it in petal.The number of plastid plastids in the sepal was greater than it in petal.And a part of the plastid were developed in the form of amyloplast and proteinoplast.The number of plastid in lip was few.The inner membrane of mitochondrial was underdeveloped.In the process of pollination,aroma was released strongly in sepals and petals to attract pollinators,whereas lip provided a place for pollinators.
