- Abstract:
- ‘Hongshuangxi’ is a new F1 hybrid watermelon with characteristics of early maturity,high yield,cracking tolerance and excellent storing quality.It was developed by crossing inbred line‘YF8’ as female parent and ‘S9’ as male parent.The variety produces vigorous plant，and the growing period is 90 days and fruit developing period is 29 to 31 days.The fruit is high globe shaped with green skin and dark green narrow stripes.The bright red fresh is crisp and juicy with center soluble solid content 12%.The average weight of fruit is about 7 kg,and the average yield of 667 m2 is about 4 300 kg.The variety is suitable for cultivation in Shaanxi Province，Ningxia Province and areas with similar climates.
