Abstract:
Two parental lines which were ms-5 from American thickness peel melon and Chinese thin peel melon HM-1 were used to cross F1 and F2 generation.Using mixed major gene plus polygene inheritance model to investigate the inheritance of fruit length,fruit width and fruit diameter.The results showed fruit length was controlled by one pair of additive-dominant major gene model,fruit width was controlled by two major gene with additive-dominance and epistatic effect,fruit index was controlled by two major additive-dominant-epistatic polygene model effect.And the habitability of major genes in F2 population were estimated as 54.5% in fruit length,61.4% and 58.0% in fruit width,and 20% and 11% in fruit index,respectively.It indicated fruit index was easily influenced by environment.
