Abstract:
The combining ability of yield and quality character of cucumber were analyzed by using Yantai local cucumber resources.The results showed that both broad heritability and narrow heritability of average single fruit weight were high.In the early generation of hybrid offspring selection could have significant effects.However the broad heritability and narrow heritability of total yield,vitamin C content and protein content were low that easily affected by the environment.Germplasm resources Lk1003 and Hy913,which were used for parents,had good general combining ability.The Lk1003 and Hy913 always emerged in those crosses with high specific combining ability,which were about total yield,vitamin C content,protein content and soluble solid.Therefore,in practice breeding on improving the yield and quality,the Lk1003 and Hy913 were good germplasm resource.
