Comparison Test of Muskmelon Varieties in Beijing Area(PDF)

Abstract:: In order to select the high quality of muskmelon varieties for meeting local demand of Beijing area，taking IVF series muskmelon as materials that were introduced from the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences,by cultivating experiment,the fruit，maturity，appearance，yield，quality and economic benefit index were contrasted.The results showed that ‘Jingmi 11’‘IVF-21’‘IVF-72’ had strong growth potential.‘IVF-68’ had fast growth，low fruit node in seedling stage and its whole growth period was short.It was suitable for robbing early cultivation in early spring.‘IVF-58’ had the best fruit quality，crisp taste，thick flavor,and the center and the edge soluble solid content respectively achieved 15.7% and 10.2%.It conformed to the local tourism picking demand.‘IVF-72’ had long growth period and general quality.And its appearance met market requirement.So it was suitable for the market wholesale business model.
