Abstract:
Taking watermelon as test material,aiming at the problem of gravel-mulched soil moisture conservation,selecting the gravel-mulched time and irrigation norm as study factors,the comparison experimental method was adopted and the gravel-mulched soil moisture conservation and potential productivity of watermelon was studied.The results indicated that it was efficacious for holding soil moisture by gravel-mulched,comparing mulched gravel before rainy season last year and mulched gravel behind rainy season last year,the former treatment soil moisture content was more than 10.8%,but,the later treatment just 8.9%;the vertical diamete increased 2.8 cm,transverse diamete increased 3.1 cm,under supplementary irrigation condition,the former treatment compared with the latter treatment,and when no supplementary irrigation condition,the vertical diamete increased 3.9 cm,transverse diamete increased 2.7 cm;the yield of the former treatment watermelon was 12 301.0 kg?hm-2,but the latter treatment was 7 549.1 kg?hm-2,under supplementary irrigation condition,the yield of the former treatment watermelon was 6 723.3 kg?hm-2,but the latter treatment was 3 829.5 kg?hm-2,under no supplementary irrigation condition,thus there was obvious effect for improved watermelon yield by holded soil moisture in gravel-mulched.
