Abstract:: ‘Shannong No.10’is a new large sized mod-ripe watermelon variety developed by crossing 11-4 and 792，whole growth period is 98 days,fruit development period is 35 days.The variety is easy to bear fruits.Its fruit shape is oval and the shape index is 1.4.The fruit skin is green covered with blackish green middle width stripes and the pericarp thickness is about 1.2 cm.The fruit has strong skin toughness,and good shipping quality.The fruit flesh is red fine sandy and juicy but with less fiber，high quality and good taste.The center sugar content is 11.8%，value of that is close to the edge sugar content.It also has a high disease-resistance as well as a strong adverse-resistance.It has an average single fruit of 8.2 kg，and a yield of 4 567.5 kg per 667 m2.It is suitable to cultivate in the open field and protected area of Shaanxi Province in the early spring.
