Abstract:
With ‘Ventura’ and ‘Japan Xiang Qin’ celery as the materials,used polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG) to treat the celery seeds,the germination and seedling growth of celery seed were studied and the effects of the seed and seedling growth were explored.The results showed that PEG priming treatment significantly improved celery seed germination index and vital index,the celery seed germinated more quickly and orderly,improved the vigor of seeds,reduced the celery seed leaching liquid conductivity and relatively conductivity significantly,decreased the content of ABA,increased the content of BR and ZR;PEG priming promoted the growth of celery seedlings,improved the celery seedling leaf area,total volume of root and shoot fresh weight,reduced the content of MDA in celery seedlings significantly,PEG priming decreased the activity of SOD in ‘Ventura’ significantly,decreased the activity of CAT significantly in ‘Japan Xiang Qin’.
