Abstract:: Taking the ornamental fern Onychium japonicum var.lucidum as material，the key breeding skill of the ornamental fern Onychium japonicum var.lucidum were studied.The results showed that mature spores were planted in humus，and germinated to filaments in 5 days，grew mature gametophytes in 55 days.After fertilization in 65 days，the young sporophytes were produced.Four months after sowing，the 3-5cm long young sporophytes were divided to trays.Two months after division，the young sporophytes were transplanted to flowerpots.Then young plants were exercise outdoors for two months.One field plant could produced successfully more than 3 000 spore seedlings in eight months.
