Abstract:
In order to understand application of the succulents in city greening,taking Xiamen city as an example,3 types of urban vegetation were selected to analysis the species of succulents,its application and the existed problems.The results showed that 8 families and 37 species of succulents were applied in Xiamen’s greenbelt.The main landscape application of succulent plants were flowerbed,parterre,street tree,landscape tree,groundcover,vertical greening and so on.Succulents were very suitable for planted in city roads and the roof of the building which was sunny,soil barren,high temperature and drought.There were some problems of succulents’ application in Xiamen’s landscape,such as low species diversity and conservation and management issues.
