Abstract:
The effect of Bacillus thuringiensis CAB109 on growth and development of Spodoptera exigua larvae were studied using sublethal concentrations (0,1×102,1×103,1×104,1×105 and 1×106 cfu/mL) of Bacillus thuringiensis CAB109 strain to treat the second instar larvae of Spodoptera exigua.The results showed that the mortality of larvae were 5.0%,8.3%,15.0%,23.3%,36.7%,55.0% respectively after treated by Bacillus thuringiensis CAB109 for 7 d.The body weight of larvae were 2.63,2.19,2.03,1.87,1.34,0.96 mg respectively after treated for 6 d.The developmental period of larvae were 16.3,16.8,17.5,18.2,19.5,21.2 d respectively.In conclusion,the sublethal concentration could not only kill the larvae of Spodoptera exigua but had effect on the larvae on growth and development.
